The EVENING OUT

This is the dress I will wear when and if I have an evening out this fall or winter. I spent a lot of time hunting for the right sweater to wear with it (another H&M find), and I am determined to wear it this year. Unfortunately I really need some shapewear (see the sideview) which I don’t have, OR a change in body configuration. I’m hoping for the latter.

this is my dressy outfit. Hope I get to wear it!

I think long dresses can be sooooo elegant, ladylike and graceful!

My Fashion Inspiration, PUCCI!

Posing with Pucci!

Posing with Pucci!

Last year I bought a shirt (see it above where I’m modeling it in front of a Pucci design) that set me off into a new fashion direction: the world of prints. At about the same time, I discovered Emilio Pucci, the Prince of Prints in the fashion world. His story is inspiring, and his influence now, 60 years later, is as strong as ever.

I feel so good wearing clothes with beautiful patterns. Pucci was an artist whose designs accentuated the female body’s natural curves. Wear one and it will make you feel ultra feminine. Of course, I don’t have a real Pucci yet~ they are too expensive for this thrift-store shopper~ but the day is coming when I will, and I’m looking forward to it!

Be Careful of Crazy Patterns

When adjusting the length, put the hem on the fullest part of your butt for the most slimming look.

Any pattern that's bold and colorful attracts me these days.

I loved this dress until I saw myself wearing it in a photo. Do I look like my cannons are loaded to you, too?  The pattern (which I’m crazy about) accentuates my upper assets in a lopsided and over-the-top way, so I’ll be wearing my little black sweater with this one (or taking it back).

The nice thing, it can be worn as a dress, or belted up as a tunic. Both are great looks.

The Neck

I feel sorry sometimes that I ignore my neck. I’m not much of a jewelry wearer, but Jean (my husband) ALWAYS comments that I “need something” if I’m not wearing a necklace. I treated myself this year to a few new earring and necklace sets. All faux, of course, but faux is fabulous!

Just Above the Knee…

I never used to show my knees. But here in Belgium, EVERYBODY, no matter WHAT SHAPE, AGE or SIZE, is showing arms, legs, and cleavage without a second thought. I guess the style has rubbed off on me. My hem-line has gone up, and I actually threw away the mid-calf skirts I was wearing so confidently just a year and a half ago in Korea. I feel like an old lady in them here!
