BLACK & WHITE

Most people would agree that black and white are beautiful. Mix them together and your eyes just can’t get enough. Today I met Lili. She was wearing white, and I was wearing black. It was a photo-op I couldn’t pass up. You’ll see more of her soon, I hope!

The CADILLAC of BRAS

Bra 2

Image

2013 was the year I realized that if you’re going to wear a bra, it should at least fit. I wanted to get measured by a professional, but had a hard time finding one. Many women do like me and keep buying the same size over the years. Even though their body shape keeps changing, their bra size stays the same.

After several poor attempts by harried and hurried salesgirls, I finally did what any woman these days with a computer ought to do~ I googled it. From the comfort of my boudoir, I finally discovered the truth ~ and even how to convert it from inches to centimeters. ( http://www.berlei.com.au/bra-size-calculator)

Excited? Yes. Shocked? Uh-huh.

Needless to say, the tape measure wasn’t lying. I grabbed my girlfriend and we went to the MALL. A miracle happened, and I’m wearing it right now. I found the Cadillac of bras, and it fits me like a glove. Some say ignorance is bliss, but not when it comes to your foundations.

Junk Jewelry!

  Image

The thing about junk jewelry is that it looks great, and costs next to nothing. I don’t mind spending my money on something else more important. Here are two of my favorite earring/necklace sets. However, as is often the case, they didn’t come as sets. The string of wooden beads (bought in Itaewon, Seoul, from my favorite street vendor) needed matching earrings. My jewelry making friend, Kristina, took some of the beads from the necklace and made earrings for me. I love them and wear them almost every day. I love the natural look of wood, and they go with everything. The silver necklace was on sale here in Belgium for 3Euros. I bought 2 of them, and took one apart to make earrings. Yay! Amazing what a little practice and a pair of needle-nose pliers can do.

The EVENING OUT

This is the dress I will wear when and if I have an evening out this fall or winter. I spent a lot of time hunting for the right sweater to wear with it (another H&M find), and I am determined to wear it this year. Unfortunately I really need some shapewear (see the sideview) which I don’t have, OR a change in body configuration. I’m hoping for the latter.

this is my dressy outfit. Hope I get to wear it!

I think long dresses can be sooooo elegant, ladylike and graceful!

Be Careful of Crazy Patterns

When adjusting the length, put the hem on the fullest part of your butt for the most slimming look.

Any pattern that's bold and colorful attracts me these days.

I loved this dress until I saw myself wearing it in a photo. Do I look like my cannons are loaded to you, too?  The pattern (which I’m crazy about) accentuates my upper assets in a lopsided and over-the-top way, so I’ll be wearing my little black sweater with this one (or taking it back).

The nice thing, it can be worn as a dress, or belted up as a tunic. Both are great looks.
